E-Trikala partner is progressing dynamically in the establishment of the Youth Municipal Council.

The invitation concerns young people and young people aged 14 to 28, citizens of Trikala, who are interested in participating in the democratic processes of a Municipal Youth Council and are therefore invited to first register in the Youth Register.

A few days ago, the Municipal Council of Trikala approved the establishment of the 1st Municipal Youth Council through a series of specific actions and actions. One of them is the Registration of the youngsters in an on line inventory from which the first Municipal Council will emerge.

The registration platform is now open will remain open until September the latest. In the meantime, a series of publicity actions are already taken place in order to reach as many youngsters as possible:

What is more, Mr Stefanos Vavylis, Municipal Councilor and member of the formation committee of the Municipal Youth Council, presented the Youth Council and the on line registration platform at a local radio show last week. During his presentation Mr Vavylis pointed out the importance of the Youth Councilto become an opinion body that will not dwell on theory but will make suggestions, comments and provide solutions and ideas to the Municipal Authorities.

Last but not least, Mr. Vavylis, also introduced to the public the “Six steps to Participation in Civic and DemocraticProcesses” initiative that will take place in September. It has been pointed out that this workshops will be of great use to the youngsters registering to participate at the youth council.

Municipal Council of Trikala in cooperation with the partners from Greece e-Trikala launched an open call for young people who will be the ones who will establish the 1st youth council, within the frame of the Initiative: Road map to digital youth council.

Today our colleagues from Glocal Factory had a chance to present the NEUEYT project on the LTTA training activity in Italy, within the frame of the project Eurothon, a KA 2 for youth. The topic of the Eurothon project is similar to the NEUEYT projects, and in both cases in their activities engagement of young people and increasing their activism in the communities is in main focus.  

The European Hackathon: shaping youth ideas on the future of Europe project aims to broaden and strengthen youngsters’ civic engagement and participation in democratic processes, through their active participation in a training pathway that will have a student/youth-centred and action-oriented approach.
