The Pocket ladder right now is basically a street fight. Games are over before you've even settled into your opening hand, so your deck can't be cute about setup. You need chunky attackers that swing on low energy, and you need them online fast. Synergy packages that actually win games

Raw power isn't enough; you want little packages that cover each other's bad turns. Weezing plus Golem can buy you time while damage stacks in the background, and it forces opponents to make annoying choices. Magneton into Raichu is another one—when it pops off, you're suddenly ahead on energy and pressure, and the other player's "perfect curve" doesn't matter. Since so many lists lean hard on EX attackers, teching Spiritomb or Mimikyu can be brutal in the best way. You'll see opponents panic when their big EX plan runs into a tiny wall that just won't cooperate.

Stage 2 still works if you respect the clock

If you're insisting on Stage 2 lines, don't pretend evolving normally is fine—it isn't. Rare Candy is what makes those decks feel like they belong in this meta, and skipping it is basically giving away turns. Test the list, too, but test it like ranked: quick games, messy hands, real pressure. Cut the cards that sit there and "would be good later."
